new england summers
print collection

Inspired by New England coast towns, I designed a pattern collection for wallpaper that aims to emulate the leisurely calm that comes on family vacations there. For this, I drew humpback whales, fishing boats from the marina, sea birds, barnacles, and oysters. I positioned barnacles behind the whales in a way that almost resembles how water seems to move, to create the sense of movement throughout the pattern. For the first coordinating design, I chose to do one made out of just oyster shells, all of which I positioned facing the same direction to mimic layers of shells found on jetties or on the posts of piers. Finally for the last coordinate, I decided to only use my above-the-water elements, like the fishing boats and sea birds, to contrast the other two patterns.
