upholstery fabric

This upholstery fabric collection is inspired by a mix of my time in the South as well as keeping up with the theme of ancient Roman symbols of power. In the palms, two leopards sit in leisure as if on a throne while another seems to be ready to pounce on his prey. Dots, which are meant to look more like a texture, are reminiscent of the popular print of polka dots that I’ve seen so many “typical Southern ladies” sport. And two structured yet playful coordinates were inspired by the running patterns found on Roman buildings. These designs were sent to a company called “WOVNS” where they were made into jacquard woven fabric, made up of polyester, cotton, and rayon. I see these fabrics upholstered on living room furniture to give a room a sense of playful sophistication.
