The egret has always been a symbol of grace and mystical beauty to me. Ever since I was a kid I’d watch the way they moved, especially the way they took off into the air. With this scarf, I wanted the egret to be the focal point, surrounding the creature with organic leaves to add to the mystical feeling. The border design frames the bird as if in a picture frame, a memory I can keep close. The design is a 36 inch square and is screen printed on silk crepe using reactive dyes.
