My time studying abroad in Lacoste, France was a mix of both very positive but some negative emotions and thoughts. I marveled at the beauty of the small village in Provence, but feelings of social anxiety would suddenly, at times put a damper on my mood. This earring collection represents both the good and the bad feelings of that experience. Yarn dyed with indigo, pomegranates, and madder root are woven into rectangles and triangles as well as tied into tassels. Orange and green thread embroidered in patches and chaotic fringe represents both the beautiful areas of greenery growing in the stone architecture and feelings of anxiety taking over a beautiful day.
