After moving into my first apartment after college in 2020, I began thinking a lot about what kinds of patterns I'd want in my space. I started to explore these ideas in my 7"x10" sketchbook, covering whole pages with painted patterns exploring different motifs, layouts, colors, and textures. I found joy in seeing how they would interact with each other so I started to rip my favorite pages out, arranging them on the floor to better think through how they could potentially work in my space.
